Total Sweetheart

One of the things I put into consideration when I was choosing a school for college was the uniform policy. Shallow, I know. But it was on the most bottom part of the list though. After 12 years wearing school uniforms that are either too hot, too loose or too tight, I was really looking forward to a no-uniform university. People tell me I'm bound to run out of clothes, though. As much as I'd like to be Hilary Duff who refuses to repeat the clothes she's worn, clothes do run out. But I do not see the negative side of repeating clothes. In fact, I see it as a challenge, to try and wear clothes and put a different spin on them each time. With that, here's an outfit with all pieces used herehere and here. Challenge accepted!

Who says neutrals are boring and can never be girly? This outfit can't get any girly-er! The combination of the floral laces in the skirt and the tank top plus the pearl accessories does the trick. Pearls + Laces = Total Sweetheart!
Bolero - Kids of Bayo || Tank top - Forever 21 || Skirt - Bayo
Necklace - Forever 21
 Floral ring - Mia Casa || Paris ring - Apostrophe
Thank you Ninang Loren for my Paris ring! <3
Random pearl bracelets
Belt - Amanda's Shop

Shoes - Fancy Flats
I've always wanted a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Foxy heels! I really like the t-strap design so when I saw this flats, they're the perfect the alternative. :))

I cannot imagine someone who has gone through a no-uniform university and graduated without even repeating clothes. That's insane! HAHA! Even Olivia Palermo repeats her clothes. I should know, I stalk her all the time and save all her pictures in my now low memory laptop that's full of New Girl, Modern Family episodes, a whole bunch of Gossip Girl stuff and and incredible amount of Josh Hutcherson's, Olivia Palermo's and Emma Roberts' photos. Don't even get me started on school papers. Just shaaaaaaaaring. Have a good night! :)

A Night in Candyland

Last Saturday, my close friend Reinee celebrated her 18th birthday! Here's a fact. Reinee and I have been friends since we were 4 or 5 years old. That makes our friendship the longest one I have in my life. When we were in Advanced Casa, we both joined our school's beauty pageant, Little Miss Montessori. I still remember her talent, she danced Pearly Shells while emerging from a big shell on stage! Haha! I'm glad that until now, we're still friends though. Love you Reinee! >:D<

Anyway, her party was held at Club Mwah and her theme was Candyland! Very Katy Perry! Since it's Candyland, its supposed to be colorful. I had this pant suit reserved in my closet for a long time already and I decided it's time to take it out and play with colorful accessories to go with theme. :)

 Pantsuit - The Ramp
Sunburst Necklace - Iora
Belt - XOXO
Bangles - H&M || Bag - Esprit
 Shoes - Zara

Here are a few photos from here fabulous party. The thing I enjoyed most was her performances! Love her dresses as well.  <3

I honestly wanted to touch the cake, you have no idea!
Went crazy with Chel inside the bathroom, every corner was pictorial perfect. We spent about almost an hour taking pictures in mirrors, corners, doors. Haha, I thought I'll outgrow this phase but I guess I still haven't. Specially when you have a friend that's just as vain as you. :))
She looks like a barbie doll!
Meg! It's so nice seeing her again and I'm glad that I got to bond with her. So sad that our other grade school friends did not make it though. :(

Thank you for the night Reinee! I'm sure everybody had a great time. Please continue being my longest and one of my most special friends. >:D< You're finally 18 too. I wish you all the best!!

Girl On Fire

When you're running out of ideas for an outfit, take inspirations on the things you love. As you might have read in my previous post, I watched the Hunger Games movie last night. When I woke up, I knew I had to channel an outfit that has the Hunger Games spirit. Even though we need to be in a corporate attire, I was willing to bring an extra set of clothes. Boy, did I take time dressing up. I had a piles and piles of clothes lying in my bed because I couldn't find the right outfit. That's when I saw my orange dress that I haven't worn in a long time. Right then, I knew it was perfect. Corporate-ish but also screams Katniss' character, "Girl on fire." So in a room full of people in a black and white corporate attire, I was there wearing bright orange. Just what like Cinna said, "I'm here to help you make an impression."

Dressing up not so ordinarily has a price to pay too. It was extremely hot under those big, somehow Chinese-like collars. Fanning myself the whole day was the price I paid for my Girl in Fire look. HAHA!

Dress - Plains and Prints

Bangles - H&M

Orange ring - H&M || Flower ring - Forever 21
Stocked up on pink and orange accessories.

Now, to complete the look. I finished it off with braids since it's Katniss' trademark!

Wanna see my inspiration for the look?

 Here you I go! How I wish that when I twirl, my dress makes real fire as well. That would've been nice to show off to all my friends who teased me about my outfit! Hahaha.

Anyway, enough Hunger Games talk. You're all probably had enough of my addiction. But anyway, check it out if you haven't seen it yet. It really is a good movie! Off to party of one of my close friends now! Bye! :)

THE HUNGER GAMES!

As you might have noticed, I don't really make separate posts for events. I usually just put it in my outfit posts. But this is no ordinary blog post, this is MY Hunger Games post. *drum roll*

Let me start off by saying no one will ever understand my attachment to the Hunger Games Trilogy. Therefore, I just might be a little OA and bias. Just a little. So let's start.

Looking at the movie as a whole, it's not nearly as good as the book. But it's the little details that makes it perfect. How Katniss hates Prim's cat, how Gale calls her Catnip and Haymitch calls her sweetheart, Katniss' anger at her mother, the high voltage fence of District 12, the way Effie looked.. it's tiny details like that, that doesn't seem so important and I almost forgot, that makes the movie spot on. Cinematography? Awesome. Fashion? My goodness, hands down to the stylists of that movie. Of all the books turned movies that I watched, this one by far has the most obedient story to book.

One of the things I noticed was that as I let the happenings around the arena unfold before my eyes, it seemed too violent. While I was reading the book, they were still killing each other mercilessly, but it didn't seem violent at all. Oh well, I didn't mind anyway. Second would be that the movie seemed sooooo centered on Katniss. I know it was her perspective in the book but it seemed that she was the most important character in the movie. Which is something not true. That's what I like about the Trilogy, the personalities of each of the characters is so unique and so important that they play such vital roles in the story.

It exceeded my expectation. I have low expectation for books turned into movies ever since Twilight and the Nicholas Sparks stories. I felt like they were a downfall. But with Hunger Games, it's a whole different stories.   The cast, for me, was perfect. The build up of the emotions in the movie was great that during the countdown in the arena, my heart was thumping so hard and I was really stressing out on what's about to happen next even though I know what's supposed to happen next. One more thing though, Cato was so much good looking in the movie than in my mind theater. Such a waste that he died. HAHA!

I have only one advice, whether you liked the story or not, go read book. Some of my friends are telling me that they did not get the beginning and the ending, us readers can explain it but you will never really fully understand it of you haven't read it.

Hooo, did you finish reading that? Congratulations! It took me quite a long time to create this blog post since my first instinct was to type in all caps, full of !!!!!!! at the end of every sentence. The world better not end this 2012. Catching fire will be released in November 2013. And with that, good morning and May the Odds Be Ever in Your Favor!

Fingers Crossed

Today I had an interview for RSSI League of Fashion 2012. It's this yearly summer internship and workshop that brands like Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Warehouse and Topman conducts. I'm crossing my fingers for it!!! So anyway, more on that if I get accepted. But if not, let's just all forget that I even mentioned it. HAHA, kidding! :)) I got a taste of what it's like to apply for a real job today, since we were in one room with all other applicants for different positions. Well, it sure is not like a college enrollment where in steps on what to do and what room to go to next are flashed on big signs with big arrows. You are completely on your own. Good thing I made a friend while waiting, so I didn't have to go up and go down again and fill some forms and be nervous while waiting alone. Haha!

We were asked to come in a stylish RSSI outfit! Although I think I was overdressed again, with the heels and all. But I keep this kind of motto in my mind, "there is no such thing as being overdressed, there is only personal style." Oh, the excuses I tell myself! :))

Romper - Topshop

Bangles - Aldo || Ring - Gift

Necklace - Apostrophe

Shoes - Aldo

While we we're on our way to my interview, we passed by this bakeshop with an exterior and interior design of everything upside down called 1950's Pandesal! I was so excited that I got to see it in person already! I cannot count the number of times my Marketing professor told us stories about this place and used it as an example. The bakery is so unique!

See? Upside down car, bicycle, windowsill, roof, flowerpots, upside down everything!

Inside is no difference! See the upside down piano and tables and chairs? So creative!!

No, I did not rotate that. Even their signage is upside down.

School works are flooding right now! I can feel stress starting seep in. And what makes it even worse is that other schools are starting with their summer vacation already! HUHU. Anyway, I can do this, just a little more push! Oh and yes, please cross your fingers with me? :)

Ateneo Adventure

Yesterday, I was a Green Archer lost in the big, big world of the Blue Eagles. My friends Nikka, Chel and I had to go to Ateneo for an interview as a respondent for a professor's thesis. Although the interview was supposedly an hour, something I was curious and nervous about, I was more than happy to oblige. I love Ateneo! It's my third time to be inside the campus and it's still the most beautiful university I've been to. The vibes was very different in Katipunan compared to Taft. I wish I could just drag La Salle all the way there.

Oh and wait! Did you know their elevators have sensors?! As in, even if it's about to close, it would stop if it  sensed someone or something was in the way!!! It took me a lot of time to get over that fact! In La Salle, elevator doors were like a game of close-open and you're it if the door hits you! Anyway enough of my rants, here's what I wore to a day of being an Atenista:

My inspiration for the look? Blair Waldorf yet again! Just like in my previous post here. What can I say, I love her style to bits and pieces. Sheer top? Check. Ribbon? Check. Although in true Blair Waldorf fashion, I should be wearing a pencil skirt but since I was afraid it would look like a corporate attire, I went for shorts instead. Afterall, only Leighton Meester can pull off that kind of outfit.

Look, they have a forest in their campus! We barely have tress! HAHA.

Top - Clothes for the Goddess || Shorts - Plains and Prints

Flower ring - Gift || Pink ring - H&M
Wore a nude belt to balance out the pink and black combo! :)

Belt - Debenhams

Flats - CMG

Thank you Nicole for being our tour guide that day! >:D<

Nicole's department!

The interview kind of finished early and I needed my daily Milk Tea fix. I wanted to try Moonleaf but it was a bit far so we went to Tea.ology instead! Ahhhhh, I love the place and tea so much. <3

I actually want to be an exchange student for Ateneo! Just to change things up a bit even just for a month. Haha. But I love my school already. Although we lack the many, many tress and the big Fully Booked, the   Sbarro inside the cafeteria and Tea.ology. To prove my love, I am in the library 8am sharp when my first class is still at 2:40. Have a nice day! :)
