Travel Diary: Vegas & Hoover Dam

Day 2 and last day of our Las Vegas trip! It may seem that an overnight trip to Vegas is not enough but I feel like I've really seen the city - although there really is so much more to see! The magic happens at night anyway. When we were driving around in the morning, I felt like the city was still sleeping, recharging for whatever the night will bring. I'll be back someday Vegas. Anyway, we spent the day roaming around The Venetian, then in the afternoon we drove up to Hoover Dam, then went back again to the city just so I could see the famous Las Vegas sign!
Palace Station, the hotel-casino we stayed in.
A few bunny ears happening in this photo. Haha
The Venetian! This mall is similar to the one in Macau, only bigger and grander. Also, the sky ceiling her seems a little brighter. It's a sunny day inside The Venetian in Vegas!
In some parts of the mall where the sky ceiling ends, it is replaced by magnificent paintings with gold frames and structures. Every minute detail of every corner of this mall is majestic!
 Gondola rides!
Venice in Vegas. It's so pretty!
They still had on their decorations for Chinese New Year.
Godiva strawberries. Strawberries in the US are crazy! It's so huge and cheap and so much sweeter!
Finally got to try the chocolate covered strawberries from Godiva. I loved it!
After touring The Venetian, we drove up for about an hour to Hoover Dam! Never thought dry mountains and deserts would be this beautiful. It goes so perfectly well with the blue skies.
I love this photo! Good job, Daddy!
Hoover Dam is an arch-gravity dam in the border of Nevada and Arizona. The two states have a time difference of an hour. That's why by just taking a few steps, you get to be in another state and another timezone! Cool, right?
At the border, I kept thinking, "I'm currently in two places at once!" How very A Walk To Remember. Haha
 Nevada time was 2:30.
But by just taking a few steps more, we lost almost an hour already!
There it is!!! The famous sign! This is all there is it to it though... just a sign in the middle of the road but it's surprising how much people wanted to have a picture with it. We had to wait in line!
The girl who took our picture (who was in a leopard costume) asked us to do different poses. Here's our not so successful jumpshot!
So much love for this photo!!! This is one of my favorites from our entire trip!

That ends my Vegas post! Time for some more Cali loving in my next posts!

P&R

Today's post features my favorite, versatile fur scarf and my floral printed pants that I rarely wear. This scarf was a gift and it comes with an instructional DVD that contains all the creative ways to wear it. This is one of my favorite ways - wearing it as sort of a fur coat. This pants, although I don't wear it often, is well travelled. I got in Singapore, first wore it in HongKong then now in Las Vegas. I love it for it's prints but for some reason, I think it makes my legs look big. :( Haha girl-issues! Anyway, I was glad to be wearing a dark outfit since we spent most of this day under the sun! This was when we went to Hoover Dam - I don't know why but I liked that placed so much! More on that on my next post!

Travel Diary: Vegas Day 1

Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas! Or so the signs says (which is not in this post since we went to it the next day, next post!). But if I were to use one word to describe Vegas, I'd use fabulous too! We arrived in the afternoon since it was a 4-hour drive from LA. In the afternoon, it was a city full of big, over the top structures but when night fell, it started buzzing! It was so alive and happy and colorful! There were signs full of big flashing lights everywhere. The hotels and the buildings started coming alive too, with their owns sounds and lights and other special effects that I wondered how much electricity is Las Vegas consuming in just one night. Haha everything was just crazy, enormous and entertaining. All kinds of people started spilling out on the streets - tourists from different places, people in costumes, a newly wed with their entourage!
We stayed at Palace Station during this trip!
Dinner at Denny's!
Cutie gangsters at Ross!
Night time now! This was when we slowly watched the city come alive!
We have audience at the back! Haha Jio and Tita Ces :))
We went around Caesar's Palace that night. If you think the structures outside are amazing already...
...wait till you see what's inside!
The fanciest H&M I've been to!
Caesar's Palace is just like The Venetian with its Roman structural designs, high street brands and it's sky ceiling. I wonder if sky ceilings are a requirement for Vegas malls. Haha
This was where I had my outfit shot taken (see here). This was my Tito posing for the camera, copying me :))
We also watched this show on that same fountain above. I was paying more attention to the details of their props and costumes and effects than to the actual story!
We then went around some more looking for the right exit that will lead us to the Bellagio for the dancing fountains show! It took us about an hour or so just to find it! Yes, it's that big that it took us about an hour just to find the right exit.
And we found it! Once we were out and on the street, my mind was going on overdrive absorbing the city! Everywhere I look, there's always something to see and all that time I was like, "Wow, so this is Vegas!"
Paris Hotel's Eiffel Tower!!!!
Caesar's Palace from afar.
And we're here! The Bellagio!
Family picture time! Too bad my cousin Josh wasn't with us!
Here it is! It was worth all the time and walking we did just so we could find it! It was beautiful!

Vegas Day 2 on my next post!
