Tagaytay Highlands

Last weekend, my dad and I went to Tagaytay Highlands to fetch my mom. Basically, it was a day filled with steep roads, amazing landscape, beautiful greenery, good food and the constant threat of hard rain. It's kind of amazing to know that minutes away from the city lies a modern version of paradise. We spent the day walking around, absorbing the still beauty of the place, stopping at every corner since it was all picture worthy. And though there were dark clouds looming above us, it was kind enough to pour right after we left the place. But the real highlight of the day? The steak, definitely!

The garden is my favorite part. <3

Look how dark the clouds were!

In A Log Cabin

I’ve had this white pants ever since I was in grade 5. Not too sure if I should be happy that it still fits me after eight years or be sad that it sill fits me since I was a chubby little kid back then. But in the end, I figured I’m happy it still fits since I’ll be able to play around and recreate more looks with it! Since it was high waist, a very popular trend in the 90’s but not so much today, I decided to downplay its high waist effect by choosing a top that falls just below the waist. And since it’s it falls between being skinny and wide legged, a 90’s trend as well, I rolled it up just a bit to make it more modern. So I welcome my tacky 90’s pants in the 21st century by turning it into a cropped pants!

And since it's white, I played with colors by using a very bright laced top and a colorful necklace! To just add a little more drama, I wore my wedges even though it's a risky choice during rainy season and I ended up walking twice slower than my usual pace since it would be so embarrassing to slip on mud puddles while wearing clean white pants. :))

Panda on My Finger

I have a weird obsession for pandas. In my opinion, they are the cutest creatures on earth. On my free time, I like to google panda images and squeal to myself in delight. I once read a story about a panda in China who experienced an earthquake. The next day, when rescuers came to the zoo, the panda hugged the legs of one rescuer tightly and won't let go because she was so scared! How cute is that?!?!?!?! Anyway, the day my new pretty starfish ring broke, a cuter, prettier panda ring presented itself to me! It's definitely my favorite accessory now! I love it so much that I almost don't use it all cause I don't want it to get scratched. HAHA! And since it's the most adorable thing you'll probably ever lay your eyes on, I decided to let it shine for this outfit. Zero accessories! Just a little black dress, ankle boots, my panda and me!

It's quite refreshing to have no accessories on me at all. No clinking and clanking sound, no restraints when moving. Back then, accessories we're only found in costume chests and dresses were the big players in the market! This is my uniform when I was young, just a straight, simple dress and I was good to go!

Elie Saab

In another life, I'd will myself to be a good artist so that I can be a fashion designer. But having no talent doesn't mean that you've lost the right eye for it. Since I cannot draw or create beautiful dresses, I willingly surrender myself to the talent of famous fashion designers. One being Elie Saab. She has the most stunning, exquisite couture pieces, hands down. I've always loved updating myself with her fashion pieces as I go "ohhh" and "ahhh" in appreciation of her gorgeous couture. She uses only classic silhouettes for her dresses but playing it up with impeccable lines, textures and craftsmanship. What I would give to be able to wear this beautiful dresses!!!

It's Windy Out There

Tucked in bed drinking hot chocolate while savoring a good book is one of the most comforting thoughts ever especially on weather like this. Although right now, I'm actually sitting typing random words, waiting for inspiration to hit me, eager to get back to my book and say goodbye to reality for a few hours. Oh, and without the hot chocolate. Classes are suspended and I know it would be too much to wish that they get suspended again tomorrow. But deep down, I know you all like that as well. Anyway, now that rainy days has taken over the very hot Philippines, dressing up needs to be done more casually, comfortably and weather friendly. Just a simple carefree outfit. In this what this outfit's all about! Although my fancy looking belt might suggest otherwise. But underneath, it's just leggings, a sheer top, comfortable flats, less accessories and a cardigan hidden safe in my bag.

Missing in Action

After one whole week of being forced to be missing in action, I am back once more! Our internet was not being friendly for almost seven days. I’d like to say I survived being away from the hustle and bustle of the world wide web but I’d be lying. Whenever I’d get the free time in school, I’d go to our computer laboratories just to check various notifications from different sites and to simply not miss out on anything. There’s so much going on online – posts and messages from friends, updates to read, trailers to watch… It goes on and on and on. But having no internet at home did have an effect on me for seven days. I was in bed at 10 pm, reading and finishing two books when I get bored, and was forced to finish all the research I need to do in school during my free time. It amazes how I have so much free time with no internet. It gave me to time to “stop and smell the flowers” as my mom would say. Well, it was a refreshing seven days but now I am back full on and so much ramblings to blog about!
I'm starting to love pants simply because I feel like wearing PJ's when I'm wearing them. It's just like I got out of bed and with a cute tank and matching accessories, it seems that I got out of bed pretty decently! It's an effrotless, no fuss, no fail combination!
